Tattwa Shuddhi (Tasmania)
6-Day Sadhana Retreat

Dates: 9th-14th April 2021
Place: Atmadarshan, Western Creek (near Deloraine), Tasmania
Teachers: Gangadhara, Sangita & Karunamitra
Cost: $550-$800
Bookings & expressions of interest: kristinakm@bordernet.com.au

Tattwa Shuddhi is an advanced and subtle sadhana which aims to purify and transform the elements (i.e. earth, water, fire, air and ether). Normally, we experience these elements in their gross state, but through Tattwa Shuddhi sadhana we gradually refine our awareness to a more subtle perception of the tattwas using specific meditation practices, and ultimately liberate energy and consciousness – the aim of all tantric sadhanas.

For Tattwa Shuddhi to be effective, there needs to be a period of time and seclusion in an environment conducive to sadhana. During the first few days of this retreat, the focus will be on external and internal tratak on each tattwa symbol, gradually purifying the underlying elemental energies.

As the sadhana deepens and purification takes place, we’ll meditate on the pathway of Kundalini (the dormant energy) rising up gracefully to merge with her beloved Shiva (pure consciousness). Only after this process has become natural, steady and comfortable, can the Tattwa Shuddhi sadhana be fulfilled in its entirety – where the tattwas are dissolved, purified and transformed, and ultimately where self-realization can take place.

This 6-day sadhana intensive includes:
  • Introduction to the theory and practice of Tattwa Shuddhi
  • Foundational practice and meditation on the tattwas and elemental fields (including more subtle elements: ahamkara, buddhi, prakriti, purusha)
  • Understanding and application of the complete Tattwa Shuddhi practice
  • Yogic methods of awakening and directing Kundalini
  • Group immersion in a dynamic, meditative experience
  • Asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha
  • Tattwa Yoga Nidra
  • Nada yoga and bhajan
  • Evening program with beautiful kirtan
  • Tattwa Yantra making
  • Sattvic accommodation and all vegetarian meals included
  • Beautiful retreat environment

Level of experience: This retreat is suitable for students and teachers who are long-term practitioners in yoga and meditation (i.e. not for beginners). However if you feel a strong inclination, please do not hesitate to get in touch to see if this course is suitable for you.

Your teachers

Gangadhara, Sangita and Karunamitra have been guided over several years by their mentor and international authority on these ancient yogic practices: Swami Satyadharma Saraswati.

Gangadhara has practised Tattwa Shuddhi extensively over many years with Swami Satyadharma, exploring and sharing the profound knowledge and wisdom of this sadhana. She has previously taught the entire Tattwa Shuddhi sadhana under the direct guidance of Swami Satyadharma. Following in this spirit, Gangadhara’s vision and sankalpa is to continue to share it with others, keeping this ancient sadhana alive and accessible to dedicated practitioners in an appropriate retreat environment.

Sangita will be offering her teaching and wisdom on this retreat alongside Gangadhara. Sangita is an exceptional teacher who embodies and supports the deeper yogic teachings with the utmost dedication and grace – qualities that are experienced and felt by all who come into contact with her.

Karunamitra is a much loved and widely respected yoga practitioner who embodies the teachings in her lifestyle and supports others to move more deeply into the yogic way of life through the Atmadarshan Retreat Space.

Venue

We are delighted to be returning to the pristine environment of Atmadarshan in Western Creek (Tasmania) for this Tattwa Shuddhi sadhana.  Atmadarshan was the last place where Tattwa Shuddhi was delivered by Swami Satyadharma and Gangadhara (in 2019). That was a deeply heartfelt, inspiring and transformative time for all - and without a doubt it will be the same for this 2021 retreat.
*Seva positions are also available for this program, enquire directly to: kristinakm@bordernet.com.au.
