6-Day Sadhana Retreat
Dates: 9th-14th April 2021 Place: Atmadarshan, Western Creek (near Deloraine), Tasmania Teachers: Gangadhara, Sangita & Karunamitra Cost: $550-$800 Bookings & expressions of interest: kristinakm@bordernet.com.au Tattwa Shuddhi is an advanced and subtle sadhana which aims to purify and transform the elements (i.e. earth, water, fire, air and ether). Normally, we experience these elements in their gross state, but through Tattwa Shuddhi sadhana we gradually refine our awareness to a more subtle perception of the tattwas using specific meditation practices, and ultimately liberate energy and consciousness – the aim of all tantric sadhanas. For Tattwa Shuddhi to be effective, there needs to be a period of time and seclusion in an environment conducive to sadhana. During the first few days of this retreat, the focus will be on external and internal tratak on each tattwa symbol, gradually purifying the underlying elemental energies. As the sadhana deepens and purification takes place, we’ll meditate on the pathway of Kundalini (the dormant energy) rising up gracefully to merge with her beloved Shiva (pure consciousness). Only after this process has become natural, steady and comfortable, can the Tattwa Shuddhi sadhana be fulfilled in its entirety – where the tattwas are dissolved, purified and transformed, and ultimately where self-realization can take place. Level of experience: This retreat is suitable for students and teachers who are long-term practitioners in yoga and meditation (i.e. not for beginners). Your teachers Gangadhara, Sangita and Karunamitra have been guided over several years by their mentor and international authority on these ancient yogic practices: Swami Satyadharma Saraswati. Gangadhara has practised Tattwa Shuddhi extensively over many years with Swami Satyadharma, exploring and sharing the profound knowledge and wisdom of this sadhana. She has previously taught the entire Tattwa Shuddhi sadhana under the direct guidance of Swami Satyadharma. Following in this spirit, Gangadhara’s vision and sankalpa is to continue to share it with others, keeping this ancient sadhana alive and accessible to dedicated practitioners in an appropriate retreat environment. Sangita will be offering her teaching and wisdom on this retreat alongside Gangadhara. Sangita is an exceptional teacher who embodies and supports the deeper yogic teachings with the utmost dedication and grace – qualities that are experienced and felt by all who come into contact with her. Karunamitra is a much loved and widely respected yoga practitioner who embodies the teachings in her lifestyle and supports others to move more deeply into the yogic way of life through the Atmadarshan Retreat Space.
